This one has been a journey and for those unfamiliar please head to https://www.sandybolton.com/?s=river+testing

In summary, I had organised testing outside the ‘standard’ in response to questions over the recommendations from the 2009 Noosa Fish Task Force Report, and concerns raised regarding possible excess dioxins in our river and catchments, which can occur naturally i.e. bushfires, as well as from chemicals. Even though the processes of this investigation have been frustratingly slow, I have received notification from QLD Health that while dioxins were detected, they were at levels below the limit stated by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), and that there are no public health concerns at this time with the consumption of fish caught by recreational fishers in the lakes.

I have requested the final report, as well have for follow up from Noosa Council regarding, and will post up when received.
