𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓, 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃𝐒 & 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄! 🛣 Were covered at the community forum hosted by Peregian Family & Friends 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 From updates I gave on state roads in Noosa and the Sunshine Motorway duplication, to the upcoming public transport strategy 📃 and progress on dangerous e-bike and e-scooter usage 🛴, there was so much more! This included from Deputy Mayors Brian (Noosa)and Maria (Sunshine Coast), QPS Sergeant Joel 👮‍♂️, and David from TMR Safety 👷‍♂️. With a packed house, plenty of tough Qs were raised 🙋‍♀️, including around the readiness of services and infrastructure to handle the increase in population to our south and the upcoming 2032 Olympic & Paralympic Games, which we continue to raise with the government as we need a succinct plan NOW. 𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 💧 With stages 5 and 6 commencing May and October respectively, there has been concerns raised 💬 that these changes will lead to further upstream being used as a ‘dumping ground’. As we have been assured by Maritime Safety QLD (MSQ) previously, they will be delivering the agreed upon outcomes for our whole river system on the 28-day rule to prevent any unintended consequences, and will be advising of further stages later in the year 🛥. 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐃!!! 🚤 Our newest addition to the Coast Guard Noosa QF5 fleet was gently lowered into the Noosa River with us all holding our breath as at a $1.4m price tag we did not want a mishap! Happily he/she was beautifully craned in, with the QF5 volunteers jumping on board to start her up as she was unleashed 😀😍 ‘John Milland’ now joins the Bendigo Rescue and Rotary Rescue vessels delivered earlier this year, and it was a wonderful moment to see this since our efforts starting in 2018 to see a fairer model for our bluewater frontliners which has seen a number of good changes including this new vessel!
