𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐄𝐔𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐈 𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐃𝐎𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄 🚧 The Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland (TMR) have advised of upcoming works, per the project area on the map below, due to commence mid year including the following key works:👉Increasing separation between lanes of opposing traffic by delivery of wide centre line treatments👉Road widening and resurfacing👉Installing audio tactile line marking to alert drivers if they drift from their lane👉Removing roadside hazards👉Providing safety improvements for bike riders, including sealed shoulders and left turn lanes at key intersections👉Installing targeted roadside safety barriers including motorcycle protectionMore information about construction timing and impacts will be shared before the start of the works. This to reduce the threat of severe wildfires in periods of very high fire danger. Please observe and adhere to all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and contractors, and do not enter closed areas or exclusion zones. Notifications are being sent to all permit holders. 🔴 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘 - 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐕𝐎𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍?? Protecting Queenslanders’ privacy by ending political parties 🤼 and MPs from harvesting voters’ personal details 👎 was the topic of my Private Members Motion (PMM). This was disappointingly voted down by the two majors.Given that the banning of this practice has been recommended by the Commonwealth Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters, we all need to ask, why ?The Attorney-General (AG) in response to my motion claimed that I was incorrect regarding the Commonwealth recommendation, however since has confirmed that I was factual, with Recommendation 21 stating “The Committee recommends that section 184 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 be amended to clarify that postal vote applications must be sent directly to the Australian Electoral Commission’s nominated addresses.”We live in a world where trust is more important than ever. That trust includes Queenslanders having knowledge of how their private information is used and where it goes.
