QLD DAY AWARDS

Celebrating those who make a difference!

Every year, we come together to honour and celebrate the outstanding work of our volunteers and professionals who donate their time and services to support local not for profit organisations, events and initiatives.

The Noosa Electorate Queensland Day Awards coincide with Queensland Day celebrations, and community groups and not for profits are encouraged to nominate those who contribute significantly to the Noosa community.

We are seeking nominations from registered not-for profit groups such as sporting clubs, charities, and community organisations for anyone who has volunteered or provided pro-bono services to your group. These awards are open to first-time recipients who have volunteered for a minimum of two years with a limit of two nominations per organisation.

Nominations for the 2024 QLD Day Awards will open on Monday 15 May. Nominations close 12pm 22 May 2024.

𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 👩‍⚖️ It was a fabulous evening at the end of Youth Week where Lisa and I joined Dylan Hafey and his fellow Youth Parliamentarians at the Launch Ceremony! 93 Queenslanders from across the state were chosen from 449 applicants, and how proud we are of all of them! 🙏 They will now focus on their bill development in readiness to enter into non-partisan debate 🤼 in September. With so many believing young people are not effectively represented, this is a wonderful avenue to hear their voices 💬, with their calls to end misinformation, disrespectful behaviours, and to challenge the status quo extremely impressive!!👏👏 I particularly loved where they stressed the importance of not limiting ourselves to these walls and history, and the importance of tolerance and respect in mainstream debate 🎙👍. This to reduce the threat of severe wildfires in periods of very high fire danger. During this burn, the Cooloola Great Walking track will be closed to public access. Please observe and adhere to all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and contractors, and do not enter closed areas or exclusion zones. Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Teewah Village, Teewah Beach Camping grounds, Upper Noosa River and Como areas.
