In response to constituent concerns regarding safety at this intersection, the Department of Transport and Main Roads have conducted an investigated, including a site inspection. The inspection identified good sight lines in advance of the intersection, however also acknowledged other concerns raised about pavement widening for a property to the East of Hayward Dr. These investigations resulted in TMR committing to upgrade the advance warning and directional signage on both approaches to the intersection with larger and clearer signs to increase driver awareness of this intersection. These were installed in October 2020.
In addition, as part of TMR’s focus on safety, speed limit reviews were undertaken along Cooroy-Noosa Rd resulting in a reduction to 80km/h in July 2019.
