TMR advises that works to widen road shoulders to install police enforcement bays on rural roads in the Moreton, Somerset, Noosa and Sunshine Coast areas are now complete. A total of 53 bays have been installed. This $2.25 million project was funded under the Queensland Government’s Targeted Road Safety Program, which aims to improve road safety by implementing high-benefit, cost-effective treatments at known and potential crash locations.
In the Noosa electorate, six police enforcement bays have been installed.

These bays included one camera bay, one pullover bay and two static interception sites on Cooroy-Noosa Road, and one pullover bay and one camera bay on Eumundi-Noosa Road. The works included localised widening of short sections of rural roads to accommodate enforcement bays where police can undertake camera enforcement or pull vehicles over.

TMR appreciates the patience of constituents while these works were carried out.
