On 11 December 2017, Department of Housing & Public Works) DHPW advised Noosa Shire Council (NSC) that the department intends to undertake an Infrastructure Designation process to authorise the activities that have occurred at the site.
This includes:
1. Replacement of the boat shed, and
2. Vegetation removal.
• NSC provided advice to DHPW that the boat shed is of a substantial scale, bulk and appearance which visually dominates the site and that the boat shed either be redesigned or modified to comply with the Noosa Plan provisions
• DHPW is liaising with NSC to achieve visual improvement of the boat shed structure. A meeting is presently scheduled for 15 February 2018 to discuss design options
• Once there is agreement about the proposal, consultation activities can occur as part of the Infrastructure Designation process.
• The consultation process will include public notification which will provide the opportunity for local residents to comment about the proposal
