In response to community concerns brought forward to our office regarding pedestrian facilities at Reserve Street Pomona, we have sought advice from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

TMR have advised that they have undertaken a targeted investigation into the pedestrian crossing at Reserve Street, Pomona. This included a review of the last five years of recorded Queensland Police Service (QPS) crash data, which showed no injury-related crash history at the pedestrian crossing. Based on these statistics, TMR have stated that the pedestrian crossing on Reserve Street is not currently a priority for upgrade.

Nevertheless, the safety of the community is paramount and advocacy will continue. For more information, please contact North Coast TMR via northcoast@tmr.qld.gov.au or call 5451 7055.
