As previously reported, including at the Kin Kin Roundtable and through social media, road widening will be undertaken on approximately 800 metres of Kin Kin Road, from just south of Loombah Street to just north of Williams Road. This will complement the road widening works undertaken in 2012 on the section of Kin Kin Range to the South. The current project will include:

  • excavating the embankment on the western side of the road
  • road widening
  • constructing new table drains
  • lengthening/replacing existing culverts
  • signage installation
  • linemarking

Design investigations for the upcoming works include land surveys, pavement investigations and testing as well as initial ecological assessments. The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have identified through design investigations that Telstra infrastructure located either side of the Williams Road intersection, requires relocation. TMR’s contractor will begin service relocation on Monday 13 September 2021, between 6am and 6pm for approximately four days, weather and site conditions permitting. Affected residents will be notified about the service relocation works and possible impacts.

In addition, TMR have advised that they will engage with key stakeholders and impacted residents regarding the proposed works. More information will be provided prior to construction, the timing of which is still to be determined.
