The Noosa River Stakeholder Committee (NRSAC) has proposed a suite of anchoring, mooring and live-aboard controls for Maritime Safety Queensland’s(MSQ) consideration. This includes anchoring and mooring caps as well as time limits which have been used effectively elsewhere in Queensland to tackle overcrowding. Much of what is being proposed is able to be covered under existing Queensland maritime safety and waterways management legislation.

MSQ General Manager  Angus welcomed NRSAC’s suggested proposals and advised that this will take some time to work through with the Committee and Noosa Council, including broad and extensive engagement to ensure that the community has a chance to have their say.
