In response to community concerns brought forward to our office requesting an upgrade of the intersection of Louis Bazzo Drive and Pomona Kin Kin Road due to safety concerns, we have sought advice from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

TMR have investigated and advised that an upgrade to this intersection would attract significant costs, and TMR does not currently have funding allocated for this project. TMR acknowledge that there are many locations on the network that would benefit from an upgrade, including this intersection.

Priorities and upgrade treatments for projects like this are primarily determined by consideration of recorded (injury-related) crash history using data from the Queensland Police Service. Based on a review of available crash data, the intersection of Louis Bazzo Drive and Kin Kin Road is currently not a priority to attract funding for an upgrade. However, TMR will continue to monitor this intersection as part of routine operations and assess its suitability for upgrade in future.
