During our 2025 Noosa MP Community Survey, some residents raised the need for signage along McKinnon Drive to highlight the road as a school bus route. Following Sandy’s advocacy and enquiries, Transport and Main Roads provided the below response in italics. In summary, they have advised that warning signage will be installed at either end of McKinnon Drive.
After assessing the current bus routes and liaising with Translink, TMR can confirm we will install ‘School Bus Route’ warning signage at either end of McKinnon Drive.
These works have been added to our program of signage works for delivery this year. However, no timeframe for installation can currently be provided.
We encourage any concerns about speeding and unsafe driving to be referred to the Queensland Police Service. Incidents can be reported to the local police station, to Policelink by calling 131 444, or by email to policelink@police.qld.gov.au.
We thank the department for adding this to their program of signage works for delivery this year. We would appreciate any further feedback from Noosa state electorate residents to our office via noosa@parliament.qld.gov.au.
