Our advocacies continued to ensure an additional fire rating sign is allocated to our electorate’s rural communities, with our May 2025 Noosa 360 update outlining that the installation application was approved on 12 May 2025 and the Rural Fire Service Queensland were finalising planning with the contracted company.
This has completed with a new electronic fire sign now installed on Pound Road, Pomona, as pictured below.
This is appreciated by our residents, and we thank Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers, Ann Leahy, Noosa resident Brian O’Connor who raised this issue with our office in 2023, and all of our rural, permanent and auxiliary firefighters for what you do to keep us safe.
With this update, Sandy encourages all households to always be ready for any potential disasters, whether flood, fire, storms or as experienced recently, an earthquake. The following links contain useful resources and information.
