As mentioned in our August 2025 Noosa 360 update, we requested a progress update from state government regarding  that the process to transfer the Transport and Main Roads (TMR) owned lot at the corner of Goodchap Street and Noosa–Eumundi to the responsibility Noosa Shire Council (NSC) be completed as soon as possible.

Sandy has now received the below update in italics from TMR outlining that this has been completed.

The dedication to road process, relating to land previously owned by TMR, was finalised by the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development on 28 August 2025.

On this basis, abandoned or illegally parked vehicles on the vacant block are now a matter for Noosa Shire Council (NSC) as the road owner. NSC can be contacted via its website at www.noosa.qld.gov.au, via email at mail@noosa.qld.gov.au or on (07) 5329 6500.

We have provided the above information to NSC and encourage all wishing to provide feedback regarding the future use of the site to them via mail@noosa.qld.gov.au or on (07) 5329 6500. Information for the Mayor and Councillors are available at noosa.qld.gov.au/About-Council/Councillors-and-meetings/Mayor-and-councillors. Sandy thanks residents who raised this issue with our office starting in early 2024.
