Your Voice. Your Noosa.

As an Independent Member of the Queensland Parliament, I am honoured to represent the wonderful diversity that is Noosa, not a political party or personal ideology. This is liberating and empowering for the residents of our electorate and provides opportunity to create a future that you have envisioned. One that is bold in researching ideas and trialling new ways to address our challenges, through the development of partnerships and a focus on what unites. One that encourages open discussion and respectful debate which concentrates on common ground and what can be achieved. One that considers all viewpoints and perspectives, with objective research and a passion for people, that puts Noosa first.

I am your voice. It is your Noosa.

𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑𝐒 + 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 = 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 & 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 🩷 👵🧒 𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 to address multiple needs in our community is to connect, share and care! As identified at the Intergenerational Living Workshop, affordable accommodations for our seniors, alternative educational pathways for our youngsters and connectivity to skills, volunteers and community outcomes can all be achieved in one, or multiple projects. In speaking about the importance of tangible proposals to take forward to government and potential partners, it was wonderful to see that social innovation was in ‘bloom’, with discussions on the sharing of facilities and repurposing of sites to deliver real outcomes for both ends of the age spectrum to alleviate isolation and accessibility. Thank you to all whom have been on this journey so far, including reps from Noosa Council, Pomona & District Community House Inc, residents and the team from the QUT, ACU and Deakin University. May the proposal that emanates from this session at the Pomona Memorial Hall gets support as this is about our community and vision, and to lead the way as others are doing successfully with examples in Victoria, the US and Denmark 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 It takes a village to raise a child, and to care for our elders. Pomona, are you this village? 🩷 👉Slides from the Pomona workshop introduction are at www.sandybolton.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Pomona-Workshop-Presentation-COPY.pdf👉Further information on Intergenerational Living and Learning and the GrandSchools project can be found at aiip.net.au/grandschools and research.qut.edu.au/designlab/projects/an-inter-generational-learning-and-living-campus-a-new-mod... ... 𝐏𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃!! 🌟 This initiative supported by an MP Grant for the Pomona & District Community House Inc was to develop a much-needed guide to volunteering for new residents, which should be a standard across our electorate! 🙌. This updated 2025 edition will help locals of all ages discover meaningful ways to connect with our community via the many groups, clubs, and organisations throughout the region to make a real difference in our home. Thank you to PCH and fellow sponsor Cooroy Rag Community Newspaper for the ways you give back, and may every reader encourage self and others to do the same 🙏🩷👉To view the booklet and to learn more, head to pomonacommunityhouse.org.au/hinterland-connections-with-pomona-and-district-community-house ...
