In Parliament last year, I met Trent โMaxiโ (You may know him from Bondi Rescue ?๐) and the Live Learn Survive team who through their charity empower kids to be โLittle SuperHeroesโ by teaching them how to survive in emergency situations ๐จโโ๏ธ, as well save others including their parents and grandies! ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ We wrote to our primary schools with an offer to provide a Noosa MP Grant to host and Cooran State School ๐ฉโ๐ซresponded, with Years 5 and 6 meeting โBig SuperHeroโ Maxi who is a lifeguard, firefighter ๐ฉโ๐ and all-round fab human! He flew in from Sydney that morning after running the City 2 Surf Marathon the day before, sharing everything from how to get out of a โripโ to calling 000 ๐ and providing resuscitation until help arrives. ![]()

Thank you to Maxi & Leigh and the LLS team, who have the goal to provide over 92,000 children ๐ง attending 250 public primary schools ๐ซin the lowest socio-economic areas of SEQ with this program which is essential in reducing deaths at visits to the beach, river or dam, as well what can happen in our own home. Knowledge builds confidence, and the ability to identify dangers and respond when the โunthinkableโ happens. Gratitude also to Cooran Principal Dan, teachers and all students in attendance, who are now equipped to be our next โLittle SuperHeroesโ! ๐![]()

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ต Thank you to our local police Senior Constable Deller and Constable McNulty for visiting Sunshine Beach State High School regarding electric bikes and scooters ๐ฎ๐ฎโโ๏ธ.In addition, congratulations to our members of the Noosa Child Protection Investigation Unit who were recently recognized at the QPS Sunshine Coast District Award Ceremony ๐๏ธ for their efforts in addressing e-bike safety and enforcement ๐ฒ, which included Operation Zappo Stoppie here in Noosa which was the first of its kind in Queensland. ๐ฒ![]()

To our most recent advocacy, the Minister for Transport and Main Roads has responded that he has tasked the department with initial actions whilst the inquiry is underway, and we have taken forward again regarding consistent age limits for electric bikes that currently only apply to scooters and the need for more school-based officers ๐ In addition, we remain in contact with E-Bike Safety Australia who are currently running E-Tag and โlicensingโ pilots in NSW schools. ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฏ This inaugural celebration for the women of the Noosa Tigers AFC past present and future was a beautiful gift for all! ๐คฉ Whilst grazing on superb platters and sipping bubbles, we listened in awe to guest speaker, Michelle, who as a mum of 13, midwife, grandma, wife, author and much-loved decades long volunteer of the Tigers alongside her hubby shared powerful messages of resilience, love and commitment. This was truly inspiring and greatly appreciated. ๐ Gratitude to all including fab organiser Christine and her merry helpers, sponsors De Bortoli Wines, Mask Events Australia, Blooms of Noosa, Key Elements, Chris Cobb, ePlants and to MC Kelly. ![]()
Before heading home we also checked out the brand-new field lighting made possible with a $300,000 state government grant which is a total game-changer for, making those late-night training and matches possible and much safer! Go the mighty Tigers! ๐ฃ๐ฃ![]()

๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐!!! ๐ญ๐๐๐๐ Noosa District SHS production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was absolutely phenomenal ๐ฉท and the packed auditorium all totally agreed ๐๐ To every single person involved, from producers Louize Lyle and Sharon Harris, students from all years who danced, sung and held us in awe for 3 hrs, all the way to the many sponsors, take a bow ๐๐ซก You all broke more than a โlegโ, and my only wish was that we could have taken photos or clips to share with all just how brilliant โstepping into that worldโ really was.๐ฅฐ And thank goodness Charlie scored with that 2nd chocolate bar otherwise we would have all broke out crying! ๐คฃ๐๐๐ BRAVO!! ![]()

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ Generations of Noosans gathered for a historic march to the Tewantin town square to celebrate Tewantin State Schoolโs 150th anniversary ๐ฒ and sing happy birthday ๐. From all accounts the old-school fair was spectacular with crazy games, like toss the dunny roll ๐คฃ, fabulous food, and all-round laughs, fun and nostalgia. While I was unable to attend due to being at Budget Estimates, I was singing along with all in spirit and enjoyed the many memories this event brought of when my own kids were there many moons ago! Happy 150th Birthday Tewantin State School!![]()
